Saying Goodbye & Three Challenges

Today I have used a few items that will be retiring, not just the stamp set Fabulous Florets but the Strips Embossing folder will be retiring as well this year. I am not one to use too many flowers in my projects but this stamp set is beautiful and can be used so many ways, I did have to fussy cut the flower out so I could make it pop. I used the sketch from Retro Sketches, SUO Challenge was to feature flowers & The Colour Q for color inspiration. The more I look at this card the more I like it, my swap mate is sure to like it.

The Birthday Blues

Happy Thursday! As this week comes to a close I am getting super excited for Monday as I will get to attend the Stampin' UP Catalog Premier, I can't wait. I have been going through my stamp sets and pulling out the ones that will retire at the end of May and want to make sure I showcase them for my classes. I have used my go to birthday set Bring on the Cake. I created this card for my stepson who will be 29 this year.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches & the inspiration came from Colour Me Challenge. After making this card I have decided to include this in my Beginners Class next month as it is super simple yet uses a few tools that I think are MUST haves such as the Big Shot & Magnetic Plate. I also used the 1" square punch to create the banner.

Hello & Goodbye

As I sat at my desk and looked at all the stamps sets that will be retiring, I found myself not really that surprised to see a few go since they have been with us for quite some time. This week I will be showcasing the sets that will be retiring and one of my favorite stamp sets that is My Friend, this set works so well for many styles.

I designed my card based off the sketch from Sketch Saturday, I knew right away what stamp set I would use for this and the colors since they will be retiring also.

A few Announcements to Make!

Happy Easter to all of my wonderful readers, i hope you will have an amazing day with family and friends and all the kiddos hunting those eggs. I have alot of information to share today!

All products related to the 2012-2014 In Colors will be retiring soon – stamp pads, ink refills, markers, card stock, ribbons, dahlias, designer papers – they will sell out fast so stock up on your favorite colors.

Today is the last day to enter in my contest to guess what stamp sets you think will be retiring. Please leave your guess HERE.
If I had to pick one I was the saddest to lose it would probably be Raspberry Ripple, which has already sold out of the ink pads :(  although I am sad about all of them being retired, but that just means new colors to love! Which one are you saddest about? 


Just in time to coincide with the release of the Retirement List, Stampin' Up has announced a free shipping week for Monday, April 21st through midnight on Friday, April 25th. 200th Birthday?!

Today's card is a Birthday card dedicated to the Pals Paper Arts as they have hit their 200th challenge, what an amazing milestone. This week along with the sketch they added a twist, to use monochromatic colors which means use just one color along with a neutral of your choice. I even rounded the corners of my card which I never do, I think I will more now as i really like it!

How good is your Guess!

In less than a week Stampin' UP will reveal the list of stamps and accessories that will be retiring, April 21st is the date, oh that is only 3 days away so lets get going! 


To Enter: Please leave your list of 5 soon-to-retire stamp sets in the Comments Section at the bottom of this post. You can also enter by emailing me. Please enter by 10pm on Sunday, April 20 (pacific time)

Rules: Please stick to stamp sets from the Annual Catalog, NOT the Spring Catalog.  Also, we already know that all Hostess stamp sets always retire, so I'm not counting those.  No purchase is necessary. Anyone can play, but I can only select a winner from the USA.

Winner: The person to get the most correct answers according to the Retiring List posted on April 21 will be able to select a FREE retiring stamp set from a selection of my personal stamps that end up on the list. I will announce the winner on April 21 and contacted them by email.

Life's Little Lesson

I find myself thinking, I wish things were better, different or simpler and then I look around and see all the wonderful things I have to be thankful for. I have some many great things in my life and I need to be reminded "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful". I made this card for myself in away, I did not use many accessories or embellishments as a reminder that the simple things in life are still just as wonderful and the little extra we are blessed with. 

I created the card based on the MOJO Monday Sketch and I also used the color combo from Around the World Stampin' UP Challenges
